Discover Igreja do Carmo in Porto: the spectacular blue and white azulejo facade, the Church dos Carmelitas and the narrowest house in the city.
The iconic blue and white tile panel covering the north wall of Igreja do Carmo was added in 1912 and depicts scenes from the life of the Carmelite order. What makes this corner of Porto truly unique is the narrow house — barely one metre wide — squeezed between the Carmo and Carmelitas churches, built to maintain the canonical separation required between the two religious institutions.
